Junior Jays

Well it is Junior Jays Saturdays here in our household and we have our little one cheering on for our Toronto Blue Jays! It has been two years now since we made the move to Vancouver but Toronto still holds a special place in our hearts, especially when it comes to baseball. There may be no peanuts or cracker jacks but having this little one decked out in Jays gear always puts a big smile on our face!

I have my latte in hand and currently pinning my little heart away this morning, trying to get inspired for the day! I have always been more of a visual person – throwing it back to my high school days, flipping through Teen Vogue, InStyle, and Style at Home trying to take in all the latest styles and trends and yes, an endless amount of cutting and pasting but hey, that was part of the fun! Of course, with the introduction of the internet came the wonderful world of Pinterest. An endless amount of inspiration and with a click of a button, being able to filter through whatever your little heart desires. I cannot believe how many incredible people, ideas and talent is out there. Come follow me on Pinterest! I would love to see what you’re pinning too

Lets Start Fresh!

There is something about that sweet summer sunshine that makes everything look and feel better.  Since making my move out to Vancouver, I have been trying to discover and explore as many things as possible.   Of course with it being summer (in Vancouver), you have to take full advantage of those sunny days because as I have heard from time to time, it does not last long before those rain clouds come rolling in… For those of you who have been following, I do apologize as I have been MIA in the blogging world. With that being said, I think it would be appropriate to start FRESH – and what better way to do so then by letting you guys in on my new laundry obsession!

For those of you who know me, know that I am borderline OCD. Growing up, I would call myself Cinderella and would embarrass my mom to others making it seem that all this poor little girl did was Windex mirrors and vacuum (sorry mom, I love you!).  Fast-forward 20 years and let me tell ya, some things never change! I vacuum and wash my floors daily and I can guarantee you that my laundry basket is ALWAYS empty.

…..Drum roll please. Downy Unstopables – a true life-changer.  Now, I know you guys are probably thinking ‘this girl is nuts!’ but in all serious-ness, one of the best purchases, ever.  This magical bottle comes in six different scents with ‘fresh’ being my ultimate favorite!

I don’t know about you but every time the holidays roll around I am at complete loss what to get my other half! He never seems to drop any useful hints throughout the year or when he does, he will most likely go and purchase the item that week (not helping me out here…)

I have gathered some of my favorite items for this season, and yes, as you can see, most of the items do follow the same color/theme/pattern (couldn’t resist!)

What are your favorite holiday gifts for your man?

happy shopping xo

She Turned Her Cant’s Into Can’s & Dreams Into Plans

I am sitting here this morning sipping on a mimosa (do not judge me, I like to start my Monday mornings off right) thinking to myself, I have finally done it.   I have finally made an executive decision, packed up all my things, and moved to Beautiful British Columbia. I mean, in this moment I still feel that I am living in a dream. I look out my window and have the most beautiful view of the mountains, along with the ocean and the most breathtaking sunsets I have seen, this is my new home.

Do not get me wrong, it was not like I woke up one morning thinking I would pack up all my belongings and leave home. It was quite the opposite. This was a very big decision that I made and I like to think of this decision as a stepping-stone to a new chapter in my life. One of which, I am so excited for and so grateful to have the support of all my family and friends. I cannot thank them enough for all the words of encouragement and love they have showered me with before leaving.

Cheers to new beginnings, I cannot wait to see what this beautiful city has to offer xo

Mother’s Day is just a couple of days away and I have gathered a few things that I think make great gifts for the beautiful lady in our lives! My mom and I share a similar love-relationship over polka dots, as soon as we took our first step into Aldo, we both fell in love with these polka dot heels…and what’s a good pair of heels without a matching bag? I am absolutely LOVING all the mint colored handbags and accessories this spring and this Kate Spade bag had me at HELLO.

What are your favorite gift items for Mother’s Day?

The End of a New Beginning

My boyfriend and I have been together for two years now and this past June, he moved to Vancouver to pursue his Radiology Residency. Whenever the standard couples question of “how did the two of you meet?” is brought up, both of us stare at each other with an enormous grin. Four years ago we met on a spring break trip to Cuba, a few months later we connected through Facebook, where he expressed to me that he got accepted to Med School within the city I lived in and was wondering if I were interested in grabbing lunch…Little did I know that a few months later, he would soon become my other half. I was smitten, I am smitten.

This is a guy who would go that extra mile for anyone, the type of guy who puts an endless amount of hard work and dedication for the things he loves and the type of guy who is filled with kindness and thoughtfulness, he inspires me to be a better person and I am exceptionally proud of everything he has achieved over these two years that we have been together.
